New • The F.L.E.M.M.I.N.G. Files, Book One
He spent his whole life wanting to be the wolf.
The universe made him a dog.
Jack Jacobs cried wolf for years. Then he finally turned into his inner animal — and it was a border collie.
A chemical spill in the school science lab wakes something called the F.L.E.M.M.I.N.G. compound. Now Jack is herding shadows, hearing dogs three streets over, and racing to save the grizzly bear that used to be his biology teacher — all before spring break ends.

Get to know the author
JP Prentice is a dad, a storyteller, and the writer behind two very different shelves of children's books — the gentle bedtime fantasy of The Robot Wizard & Dragon Princess series, and the funnier, wilder middle-grade adventures of The F.L.E.M.M.I.N.G. Files. Different worlds, same belief: a good story can help a kid understand what they're feeling.
Inspired by bedtime conversations with his own kids, JP writes stories that blend adventure with real emotional growth. Whether it's a thoughtful princess, a careful robot wizard, and a kind-hearted dragon — or a middle schooler whose inner animal turns out to be nothing like the one he hoped for — his characters face their fears the same way real families do: with patience, creativity, and love.
Beyond the books, JP creates companion resources for parents, sharing practical tools and calming strategies that have helped his own family through bedtime worries, big emotions, and everyday challenges.
When he's not writing, JP is usually reading stories with his kids, dreaming up new worlds, or finding small moments of wonder in everyday family life.
